Okay here’s a wierd one the makers of Scrubs have filmed a pilot for a TV show about some guys who hate the current state of sitcoms and feel they could do better, so the WB commision a reality TV show about them, making a sitcom.
Back to reality now and the WB rejected the pilot but NBC picked it up and now it’s getting a huge following on You Tube amd could be a smash hit. It’s kind of a post modern sit-com / reality show / blog. Deserves to get shown check it out, has a real Arrested Development feel to it.
Found a nice little site today that allows you to connect to multiple instant messenger systems at the same time, through your web browser so you don’t have to install anything. Makes it ideal for people who have strict rules at work about downloading and installing programmes.
It’s also available as a Netvibes module so you can just integrate it into your start page, check it out here
If you aren’t convinced by the new mac books, Dave Chapelle gives you a few reasons to switch. Unbelievably I’ve only ever seen this guy on the net he is nowhere on UK TV
It’s been widely known that Intel releasing there new desktop core 2 duo chips codenamed conroe but it also looks like they are unveiling the same line (codename Merom) for laptops on the same day. With all these new chips and numbers what the hell does it all mean, well for a start it’s like having two chips rolled into one hence the whole two cores thing. How are core 2 duo better than the current core duo chips? Well in theory it should be more powerfull and not give off as much heat.
In other words that’s why you’ve been seeing Pentium 4 computers going dirt cheap. If you want to future proof yourself a bit hold off buying a new computer for a month or so as the next big thing is just around the corner. Of course another next big thing won’t be far off, even if you don’t need the latest top of the line computer once these new ones are around I imagine all the old ones will be going for rock bottom prices.
Ah the film I’ve been waiting for ever since…. well I saw the first one. Forget Superman this is the only film I really have to see this year!
For those fans of Rocketboom out there you’ll aready know that Amanda has left as host of the popular video blog. I’m a bit behind the times as I’m about a month behind on the show but caught the new host the other day and it just felt wierd. Maybe she’ll grow on me but to get over your daily withdrawl head on over to Amandaunboomed to see her new blog complete with… yup you’ve guessed it a healthy dose of video content.
Keep an eye on the blog for news of her next project, but as a fan of the show I wish her all the best and will be keeping an eye out for what she does next. With the profile she has and all the news about her over the last few weeks; she has a pretty good oppurtunity to drive a tonne of traffic to wherever she now ends up.
At last a few spare moments to just surf the net and see what I can see. Nothing particularly out of the ordinary today but I realised I haven’t mentioned what is fast becoming the first page I check when logging on (after netvibes).
Digg Is a fantastic resource to find out what’s hot and what’s not on the net. It’s basically a user generated news site which has recently upgraded and has moved into all kinds of news not just techy stuff, celeb stuff, politics stuff, very configurable so you only see what you want too. It seems to be constantly evolving and getting better all the time. The top stories of the week are featured on a weekly video podcast whcih you can subscribe to through itunes or find it here
Like I’ve said you can configure everything once you are logged in, so if all you want to see is celeb news or politics, or stuff on apple than that’s all you have to look at. It’s also very easy to submitt stories yourself and the whole process relies on commenting, so if you digg a story hit the button and it moves up, same goes for comments, if someone is spamming it won’t last 5 minutes as users themselves will just mark the comment down so it can’t be seen.
Nice to go to a site that feels very organic and constantly full of change and new content.
edit – strangely enough as I choose today to do this entry Digg have updated again and now have a sports section, though I hate to post anything in a “soccer” section (It’s football damn it at least according to the rest of the world)
