So what do all these people do that create huge internet thingys and sell them for shed loadsd of money like Youtube and Writely.  Not the fogiest about them but in the case of the makers of Skype (and I believe Kazaa) they’ve decided to just do it all again.

Joost is the new idea from the people that created Skype and is basically internet TV, not Youtube anyone can submit 2 minute clips TV, but real proper programmes competing with terrestial TV.  It’s such a simple idea I’m shocked it’s not been done before.  Well you can’t try it out yet it’s still in beta which means neither can I but from the sound of it, it’s sounding damn impressive.  Check out the review here and you can pre-rgsiter with Joost as well

60Hz for PAL Wii Virtual Console online petition

There’s a petition online to get the full 60Hz versions of virtual console games on the wii in Europe (and I think Australia). At the moment we get a 50Hz version with huge black borders and slowdown, which basically screams go download the version you want illegally. Nintendo have been very obstinate in sticking with original versions, help.

Macworld 07 – part 2 iphone

It’s real it’s here it’s a smart smart phone and widescreen ipod, touch screen (no stylus). Runs OSX, check your mail. Has 2mp camera, 160 pixels per inch on the 3.5 inch screen

Seems to do bloody everything, has a built in speaker, ipod connector at the base, standard headphone connection at the top, and you can make calls, has a visual voice mail GSM+EDGE. Wifi, bluetooth, Quad band.

If this thing doesn’t cost a fortune I’ll be shocked.

Macworld 07 – part1

ITV – Terrible name expecially if you are in the UK as that is one of your TV stations but there you go a rumour no longer $299 (hopefully that will translate to £150 but I doubt it).  Does pretty much what you’d expect 802.11n, stream direct from 5 PC’s and the Apple website, 40Gig Hard drive, Intel chip in it.  Ships in February order it when the store comes back on line

My New Year

Well being that it’s macworld again I’m guessing that this blog has been around in one form or another for a year, and throughout that time I’ve refrained from talking about myself as, well I don’t really have that much to say. I’ve kept this as a home for links and techy stories and it may well continue to stay that way until I start a new blog about my news which is……

I’m going to be a Dad! I found out on New years day and it still doesn’t really feel real yet, I don’t suppose it won’t until Teenie starts getting a bump or we go for the first scan. Well it was planned we just didn’t think we’d be lucky enough for it to happen so quickly, kind of taken us by suprise now that it’s actually happening even though it’s something we’ve been trying for which is weird. Well that’s been my New Year, I’m still a bit stunned, told a few people both sets of parents are over the moon and the wierd thing is just before I become a Dad I’ll become an Uncle so they’ll each have a little play mate. Apparantly this is the chinese year of the pig and the element is fire so we’ll have two little fire pigs crawling around.

Think I’ll be starting up a little Dad’s journal type thing and I’ll post a link here. Expect more boring net stuff later today.
